The ecomony in GD

We have one of the biggest business and industry parks in the region of east Württemberg. It’s called “Gügling Gewerbe-und Industriepark” and has about 60 companies with approximately 3000 employees. Some important industries include automotive suppliers (ZF-Lenksysteme), manufactures of machinery and glass, and a large subsidiary of a famous producer of beauty products and naturopathic medicines (Weleda).

Why Gmünd?

If you love cozy old-styled buildings, cafes or if you just want to learn about the classic vintage German culture, Gmünd will be your town. Our town enjoyed a big “makeover” during the last years because of a huge event called  “Landesgartenschau 2014” (state horticultural show, a sort of gardening exhibition) so now we have lots of pretty nature in the center of the city and new cafes and shops. It´s also very important to know that we are the oldest city of the Staufer dynasty,  because of that we have  many historical buildings like the Münster Church.  That makes our  rather small but beautiful town interesting for many tourists every year.
